Chemical & Overseas Division
Freight transportation between Japan and Asia, Chile, and other regions of the world
The Chemical & Overseas Division engages in the coastal and near-sea transportation of liquid chemicals, and the overseas transportation of general freight. Liquid chemicals such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and magnesium hydroxide are carried in dedicated tankers between Japanese ports, while sulfuric acid is transported to ports in China, Taiwan and Southeast Asia.
We operate a special ocean-going cargo vessel which transports sulfuric acid from Japan to Chile, and copper ore from Chile to Japan and Korea. This type of vessel cannot be found in anywhere else in the world. We also transport general cargo to Southeast Asia and import south-sea lumber from Papua New Guinea.
